This is a post about my findings on 5G and the unprecedented dangers it poses to our health and ecosystem. As a disclaimer, I'm not a medical professional or a scientist, however I am a concerned individual who is voicing her opinion based on the research I’ve undertaken. Please also note that as a health practitioner I have not gone into great detail about the technological benefits of 5G as my primary concern is the health implications on our wellbeing. I wish I could have added in more, there's so much to talk about, but I trust I've done enough and you can take away some learnings.
Technology and 5G
“Never in human history has there been such a practice as we now encounter with the marketing and distributing of products hostile to the human biological system by an industry with foreknowledge of those effects.”
- Robert Kane, a telecoms engineer with Motorola who died of brain cancer in 2002
Advancements in technology can be a wonderful thing but it becomes less so when it’s done at the expense of the health of the planet and its population. In our society, with its need for ‘bigger, better, faster’, 5G is the 5th generation of cellular technology that's currently being rolled out across the world, promising faster download speeds and increased connectivity. You can be forgiven for thinking it’s just another upgrade from 4G, in reality 5G is on a completely different level due to two main reasons:
Firstly, 5G emits ultra high frequencies. The higher the frequency, the shorter the length of each wave. This means more waves hit our bodies in the same amount of time. 4G emits from 1 to 6 GHz frequencies whereas 5G may emit frequencies as high as 300 GHz.
Secondly, 5G technology requires ultra high intensity. Since the shorter length millimeter waves (MMV) used in 5G do not travel as far (and get obstructed easier), with the current number of cell towers the cell signal will not be reliable. To compensate, many more “mini cell towers” will have to be installed. It is estimated that they will need a mini cell tower every 2 to 8 houses. All of this combined will greatly increase our RF Radiation exposure.
The dangers of 5G
So how are these ultra high intensity frequencies dangerous to our bodies, plant and animal life?
There is a wealth of information available; thousands of articles (this one breaks it down well), debates, petitions and videos, from scientists and researchers across the world, all warning about the dangers of 5G technology, in particular about the radiation that we’ll all be exposed to on such an unprecedented scale. So I've put together a condensed summary of the possible health implications, which include:
Widespread damage to our nervous system and endocrine.
The breaking of cellular DNA which contributes to cancers.
Cardiovascular disease (when heart disease is already the leading cause of death in the world).
Oxidative stress and free radical damage, which have central roles in essentially all chronic diseases.
Neurodegenerative diseases and infertility alongside more common issues such as headaches, insomnia, fatigue, depression, dizziness, anxiety and stress.
Lower male and female fertility, lower sex hormones, lower libido and increased levels of spontaneous abortion.
Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is abundant evidence of harm to diverse plant and wildlife. As one article sums it up “there will be major ecological disasters as a consequence of 5G.”
For a really good read, Doctor Martin Pall writes an easily-digestible article on the health implications of 5G.
As 5G launches, it will be the first test of this type of technology on human beings ever performed. Humans, animals and the environment have all been at risk for years due to radio frequencies and what’s even more worrying is that we’re only just starting to see the health implications now - from cancers to tumours and infertility, it can’t be ignored yet it is, all in the name of ‘technological advancements’ profits and greed.
Scientists and researchers around the world have been petitioning against 5G, expressing their concern to governments and health bodies about the dangers of 5G, just take a look at some of these appeals below.
We've learnt that there is insurmountable evidence that 5G technology is dangerous and will change the world as we know it which, for me, raises some questions:
Why aren’t the public aware this is happening and the implicit dangers?
Where are the rational debates about the pros and cons of 5G? Why are we not challenging the telecoms industries? Why is no one acting in the interest of protecting public health?
What aren’t the media reporting unbiased journalism on 5G?
Why are we rolling out this huge technological infrastructure worldwide without having done any testing on its safety?
Is this all worth it for faster download speeds?
There's some striking parallels between the telecoms industry and the tobacco industry who, back in the 1960’s, attempted to discredit the emerging science relating smoking to cancer. If you don’t know about it, this is a brilliant summary.
The media and 5G
As many of us gain our information from mainstream media I thought I’d give a few examples of the narrative being told across the board about 5G.
The BBC calls anyone talking about 5G as “pushing eccentric and damaging narratives”.
Forbes write that “there are lots of real hazards out there in the world, but 5G — much like vaccines, fluoridated drinking water, and the vapor trails left by airplanes - aren’t among them” calling affronts against 5G as “a new wave of fear-mongering health claims”. (As a side note I personally, I believe vaccines, fluoride and vapor trails are all incredibly hazardous to our health!).
The Guardian calls fears surrounding 5G as “unfounded.. nonsensical beliefs” spreading paranoia and scare-mongering.
And while not the most scrupulous of news sources, though widely read, this Daily Mail article is a great example of media using dubious sources, all with close ties to the government or telecoms industry, to debunk the dangers of 5G:
Offcom - a government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the broadcasting and telecommunications industry.
Global Wireless Solutions - works directly for some of the largest wireless carriers and equipment manufacturers worldwide.
Public Health England - (the health arm of the Government) who, in their own words, “exists to protect and improve the nation's health and wellbeing”.
Fullfact - a fact checking body that last year received a £1.6 million grant by Google to help them in “efforts to combat misinformation online” and even this month secured another Google investment from a pot of £5.3 million given in grants to organisations around the world that “tackle misinformation, with an immediate focus on the covid-19 pandemic”.
GSMA - an industry organisation that represents the interests of mobile network operators worldwide.
Now, more than ever, we need to critically look at the information we're being fed and the possible biases that are present.
If you search for 5G now you will see a slew of articles talking about the conspiracy theories linking 5G with Coronavirus, including the recent burning of masts. It seems likley to me that the telecoms industry, mobile companies, government and media have successfully created a smokescreen, one which successfully establishes a link between anti-5G campaigns and the theory that 5G causes the spread of Coronavirus. Even though there is no evidence from my scientific sources that links the two together, this link is clearly trying to be established and we must ask ourselves why.
I believe the sole purpose of this is to detract attention away from the real 5G debate and instead discredit, defame and debunk any arguments against 5G. They’ve shifted the focus from public interest in 5G to public outrage at 5G Coronavirus conspiracies. Furthermore, it gives social media companies the power to shut down sites, groups and videos in the ‘interest of public health to stop the spread of disinformation’. So by linking anti-5G arguments with the spread of Coronavirus they can effectively shut down Facebook groups, active petitions and YouTube videos talking about the dangers of 5G.
In fact the BBC recently wrote that “the GSMA - a trade body that represents the wider mobile industry - also urged social media and other content-hosting providers to "accelerate their efforts to remove fake news relating to the problem”. And there it is again, fake news, fake by who’s account? Facebook has clearly listened and responded that they are taking “aggressive steps to stop misinformation and harmful content from spreading on our platforms and connect people to accurate information from the NHS about coronavirus.”
And let’s just finish by remembering, what happened to freedom of speech? If people did want to link 5G to Coronavirus, why is that illegal?
The telecoms industry, mobile companies, government and media often cite the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) findings on 5G as safe in their evidence in favour of 5G technology. In fact, you’ll see them referenced in nearly every article as a trusted body with our 'best interests at heart'. WHO claims that there’s “no evidence of danger from electromagnetic fields”.
After a bit of digging I find it interesting that WHO’s second biggest donor is Bill Gates who, with his links to tech, we might believe to have a vested interest in the success of 5G. If you follow the money you’ll also notice that Bill bought $650 million dollars worth in shares in Crown Castle Corp, the largest provider of shared communication (cellular) infrastructure in the U.S in 2018. And to add in one more juicy tidbit, Bill also invested $30 million into change.org where hundreds of worldwide anti-5G petitions have been mysteriously deleted. In Change.org’s own words they have "removed a number of petitions making unsubstantiated health claims about 5G from the platform."
A spokesperson for Change.org told The Independent that a “recently deleted petition was taken off because it went against established scientific facts about 5G. According to WHO no adverse health effects have been attributed to electromagnetic waves emitted by mobile phone infrastructure”. Yet another mention of WHO and again, if you read further, another attempt to link anti-5G campaigns with Coronavirus, discrediting the arguments against 5G.
Even on a very basic level, can you begin to see how it all might be linked together? At a time when Bill Gates is causing all kinds of rukus and uproar across the world with his plans for mass vaccination, I find it interesting that he pops up when talking about 5G too.
Just one final thought to leave you with, if 5G really was safe, why do insurers Lloyds of London exclude any liability coverage for claims “directly or indirectly arising out of, resulting from or contributed to by electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetism, radio waves or noise.” Why also did insurer Swiss Re put the spread of 5G technology as “one of the five emerging risks with the highest potential impact on the insurance and reinsurance industry in 2019”. In their report they wrote that “current concerns regarding potential negative health effects from electromagnetic fields are likely to increase.” I admit that I find it concerning that insurers are worried about future claims from electromagnetic radiation.
5G is a gross abuse of our human rights so I urge everyone to do your research away from mainstream media about what 5G is and how it will affect the health and wellbeing of you and your family.
The crime isn’t that 5G is being rolled out, it’s that it’s being rolled out in the shadows with complete disregard for the health of the population and the planet. If you say you care about the environment then you can no longer ignore the effect 5G will have on it. The roll out will have unprecedented effects on wildlife as well as humans, wildlife that is essential to our ecosystems.
As always, despite all this negative and manipulation I believe it’s important to stay light, trust that good will prevail and love is stronger than fear.
